Angus Walker was born in Hawkes Bay, New Zealand in 1982. Schooled at Hereworth School and Wanganui Collegiate School, Angus went on to graduate from Elam School of Fine Arts, Auckland University in 2005. 

After graduating, Angus travelled extensively throughout Japan, Nepal, U.S.A & South America. While in New York, Angus was fortunate enough to spend time with his friend and mentor, Max Gimblett.

Angus has held solo exhibitions at Aesthete Gallery, Hamilton (“Move Mountains” 2019, 2018, 2017), Thistle Hall Community Gallery, Wellington (“Cause” 2011), Quay Gallery, Napier (“Harbour State” 2009), Morgan Street Gallery, Auckland (“Call me when you get this” 2008).

During this time Angus’ work was selected for the Vero Insurance Calendar 2012, and won 1 of 4 major prizes in The Park Lane Art Awards 2007.

Angus’ work has also been selected in group exhibitions at Black Barn Gallery in Havelock North (2005), Visual Culture in Wellington (“Swipe” 2014), and ROAR! in Wellington (“Echo” 2011), Emerge Gallery Wellington (2006).

Angus work is held in private collections in New Zealand, Australia, Chile, Malaysia, Scotland and the U.S.A.
